The brief.

Italian furniture, sold like a warehouse sale.

Suave is a Melbourne furniture retailer with genuinely Italian-designed pieces: full-grain leather suites, marble-topped dining tables, oak bedroom sets. Seven showrooms across the city. And a web presence that sold all of it like a clearance floor: price-first grids, sale banners, the visual grammar of every furniture chain in the country.

This study asked one question: what happens if you take the same catalogue and sell it the way the pieces deserve? Exclusive, unhurried, Italian. We built the answer as a full working preview before any engagement, because in this studio the site is the proof.

How we worked.

La Mano: the hand before the sofa.

01. The concept. Four luxury directions went into a war room; one came out. La Mano, the hand. Suave presented as a workshop, not a store. The first thing on the site larger than the wordmark is a hide being worked across a frame, not a styled lounge. Warm-black palette, a single cognac accent, serif display type. The room speaks; the price waits its turn.

02. The catalogue. Ninety-plus pieces across living, dining and bedroom, every one photographed in its own distinct room. Each product page carries a three-image gallery: the piece, a material macro, the room it lives in. Prices always visible in tabular figures. "Made to order" instead of "in stock", because slowness is the point.

03. The build. Eighty-three pages generated from one deterministic system: shared nav, footer and card templates fed by real product data, so the whole catalogue regenerates from a single command. Enquiry-first, no fake cart, showrooms listed with real addresses.

04. The plumbing. Full SEO on every page: canonicals, structured data for products, collections and the organisation, an 83-URL sitemap, and the entire render library converted to WebP with intrinsic dimensions so nothing shifts as it loads.

"The first thing on the site bigger than the logo is a hide being worked. Not a sale banner."
From the build spec

The outcome.

A preview built to make the argument for us.

The preview is live, complete and honest: 83 pages, a full working catalogue, real showroom addresses, structured data throughout. It exists to show a retailer what its own stock looks like when the presentation matches the craftsmanship. This is a studio study; Suave has not commissioned the work, and we say so plainly.

The first 30 days are still being measured. We'll publish the numbers when they're real.

From the atelier

Most furniture sites treat the catalogue as inventory. La Mano treats it as evidence: proof that someone cut, joined and stitched these things. Same stock, same prices. Only the respect changed.
